Temperance
"An angel pours water between two cups, one foot on land and one in the stream: the art here is the mixture, not the ingredients."
Upright meaning
Temperance is mastery of proportion: the right amount, the right tempo, the third path between extremes that everyone swore was impossible. It appears when healing, recovery or reconciliation is underway, slow by design, and asks you not to rush a process whose speed is part of its medicine. Blend the opposites you contain, ambition and rest, logic and instinct, and the result outperforms either ingredient alone.
Reversed meaning
Reversed, the mixture has broken: oscillation between all and nothing, impatience sabotaging a cure, excess presented as enthusiasm. Some element is overdosed, identify it and reduce, rather than abandoning the recipe entirely.
In love
Bonds that find their tempo: differences blending instead of colliding. After conflict, this is the card of genuine, gradual reconciliation, built in small consistent doses.
In work and money
Moderate the pace and integrate teams or skills that seem incompatible. Sustainable beats spectacular this season; protect the long game.
The card's advice
Adjust the dose, not the goal. Slow mixing is still progress.
