Seven of Pentacles

"A laborer leans on his hoe and contemplates the fruit still ripening: the pause to assess what was sown."

patienceassessmentlong-term investmentfuture harvestimpatiencemisspent effortmeager results

Upright meaning

The Seven of Pentacles is the halt to look at what has been cultivated. The work is done, but the fruit is still ripening: it is time to assess, be patient and trust the long run. This is no moment to pull up the plant to see if it grows, but to let time do its work.

Reversed meaning

Reversed, patience runs out. Impatience for results that do not come, doubts about whether it was worth it, or the suspicion of having sown in the wrong soil. Best to review the investment before pressing on.

In love

A relationship that needs time to mature. Assess calmly whether you are heading where you want.

In work and money

Projects of slow harvest. Sustain the effort: what you sowed needs its season.

The card's advice

Do not pull up the plant to rush the fruit: what is worthwhile grows in its own time.
