Six of Swords

"A boat crosses calm water toward a distant shore, swords planted in the wood: the passage that leaves the storm behind."

Upright meaning

The Six of Swords is the journey toward calmer waters. A difficult place is left behind and you sail, slowly, toward something better. It speaks of transition, of physical or mental moves, of pulling away from what hurt. It is not a euphoric leap: it is the quiet relief of one who finally drifts away from the storm.

Reversed meaning

Reversed, the boat does not advance. You carry emotional baggage you will not set down, a transition that stalls, or resistance to leaving the familiar even when it harms you. Change waits for you to climb aboard.

In love

Leaving a hard chapter together toward something calmer, or the need to pull away to heal.

In work and money

A change of course, of job, or of city that improves things. The worst is being left behind.

The card's advice

Climb into the boat even if you do not know the exact shore: moving away from the storm is already progress.
