✦ Calculate my Four PillarsPythagorean Numerology: What Your Numbers Mean
Numerology reads identity through two pieces of data you have carried since birth: your full name and your date of birth. In the Pythagorean system, each letter maps to a digit from 1 to 9, and dates reduce by adding their digits. From these operations come your core numbers, each describing a different layer: the road you walk, the talents you carry, the desire that moves you, and the first impression you give. Oraclyst calculates them instantly and explains each one.
The four core numbers we calculate
The Life Path, from your full birth date, is the central number: the terrain and lessons of your life as a whole. The Expression number, from all the letters of your full name, describes innate talents and how you build in the world. The Soul Urge, from the vowels alone, names what genuinely satisfies you beneath appearances. The Attitude number, from day and month of birth, is the surface layer: how you come across before people know you.
How the calculation works
Letters convert through the Pythagorean table: A, J and S are 1; B, K and T are 2; and so on through 9. Each total is reduced by adding its digits, 29 becomes 2 + 9 = 11, until a single digit remains, with one exception: 11, 22 and 33 are master numbers and are never reduced. They carry the amplified, more demanding version of 2, 4 and 6, which is why a Life Path 11 reads differently from a Life Path 2.
Which name should you enter?
Classical numerology uses the complete name on your birth certificate, since the Expression and Soul Urge numbers describe the blueprint you started with. Married names, artistic names or shortened everyday names generate valid but different readings, describing the identity you currently project. If the results differ, both are information: the gap between birth name and used name is itself a classic subject of numerological reading.
Frequently asked questions
- Does numerology predict the future?
- No. It describes tendencies, talents and tensions, a character map rather than a calendar of events. What you do on that terrain remains yours.
- What are master numbers?
- 11, 22 and 33. They are kept unreduced because tradition treats them as higher-voltage paths: greater potential, greater demand. Having one is neither better nor worse, only more intense.
- Why do accents and the letter ñ matter?
- Oraclyst normalises accented characters to their base letter so that names in any language compute consistently under the same Pythagorean table.
