Four of Pentacles
"A figure clutches a coin tightly and stands on two more: the security that becomes a prison out of fear of loss."
Upright meaning
The Four of Pentacles is the instinct to protect what you have won. It can be healthy saving, order and material stability, but also the grip of one who will not let go out of fear. The hugged coin gives security, yes, but squeeze it too hard and nothing flows toward you or from you anymore.
Reversed meaning
Reversed, the fist opens or clenches even tighter. Either greed and extreme control appear, or you finally learn to release, spend and trust that there will be more. Movement returns.
In love
Fear of opening up or depending. Beware of controlling the bond so as not to lose it: that is exactly what suffocates it.
In work and money
Financial stability and prudence, without sliding into stinginess. Saving is fine; freezing up is not.
The card's advice
Guard what is yours without strangling it: what you squeeze too hard stops breathing.
